Will it ever be more than an intro?
I’m being harsh on myself really – I think this definitely has the potential to develop into a full track, but it seems that in trying to do so, I’m just extending the introduction (now up to around 60 bars).
I’m really enjoying developing this one though and I’m looking forward to mixing it. Apologies that the mix is all over the place at the moment. The bottom end is particularly mushy, but as I mentioned last night, I want to press on with the arrangement before worrying about that.

Listened to this again this morning and man have I got to get rid of that bass line. I’m after a much smoother (or perhaps cleaner) transition between the ambient first 48 bars and the second part as the principal drums kick in.
I’m hearing reversed cymbals and a simple break, but whatever happens that bass is history. Shocking.
You have one good track right there, the transition is fine, the pause before the break drops is perfect. Amp up the bass a little on the bassline, with some accent (perhaps another filter swept bass layer) a few bars later and it will sound awesome.
The bassline in the first edit was really weak, and didn’t do the track any favours, the edit is a great improvement.
I genuinely like it.
