This track keeps pulling me towards the conventional drum sound of the type I’ve been trying to steer clear – right down to big tom fills (just need a cowbell clunking through 1 to 4 and we’re good to go).

At this stage it’s unmixed, but the kind of kit I keep trying to avoid makes its entrance at bar seventeen.

I guess it’s a part of the “heritage” that I’ll always struggle to shake off. I can’t help it, I do love a thumping drum sound.
