Midweek Long Run
Last night I’d planned to run eleven miles but was cut short because of other obligations. Tonight’s eleven miler was curtailed by ability (and it’d be wrong to ignore the heat and stupidity of forgetting to take a drink).
The first five or six miles were great. I felt strong and reasonably light on my feet, but at mile eight fatigue struck. I knew there and then that I’d struggle to compete the full distance, thought I’d make it 10 miles but in the end managed 9.5. I’m sure when I check my mile splits on MotionBased (when they’ve finished uploading!!), it’ll be unsurprising reading.
Still, I’m only a couple of weeks into the training and it was very warm. I feel OK – a bit beat – now I’ve had a couple of glasses of water and I’m certain that I’ll be fine tomorrow.
