Thought I’d try my hand at a more minimal piece and created the following which I’ve called Cyrodilic Brandhi (don’t ask). It’s not really a serious attempt, so I won’t mind if you snort with derision after 16 bars, assuming you make it that far.

Not much to say about this really. I suspect I’ll ditch it but salvage on or two elements for another tune, so this is just brain dumping again really. As so often in this category, it hasn’t been mixed so not only will there be lots of EQ glitches, the levels are probably all over the place too! And the pitch bend is an assault on the ears. Apologies over. Here you go:

Noodling around with Ohm Force

Been playing around with Ohm Force’s Symptohm again this evening and I thought I’d upload this as a brain dump file. I often make the mistake of overwriting stuff I’d like to keep, so before I do just that, I’m uploading the Cubase .cpr along with an MP3 mixdown.

It’s only a few bars (and even those have been extended, just to make it worthwhile clicking play on the flash player below).

Want to see how this sounds in the morning.

I’m not sure I’ll take this any further, but I quite like the bass line.

The original idea came from a drum loop which my young lad put together using BeatMaker on my iPhone. This is the first drum part you’ll hear, later accompanied by some additional percussion and a secondary drum track.

Ignore the fact that it drifts hopelessly out of time, the levels are all wrong, one of the pads disappears and it’s generally very rough! At this stage, I’m just dumping out a couple of ideas. In all honesty, I don’t think there’s too much to develop here.
