A “step back” week, this week. (At least that’s what I’m telling myself!)
Actually, although I had been building the miles over the previous four weeks, it wasn’t a planned step back for recovery. It was really a result of two things:
Time: or lack of it, though I always think this is a lame excuse. I can just get up earlier;
Fear: it’s been really cold in London and the last run to the office ended with me tearing a calf muscle through lack of proper warm up. That resulted in a few weeks off and the position I’m in now of rebuilding the fitness.
So, I’ll take the step back and add more distance next week. Target for w/c 22nd Jan.
