Morning run 🏃♂️
It’s not hard to see why this is one of my all time favourite running routes. I don’t know how many times I’ve run this, or a slight variation of it, over the last five years, but it’s a lot!
I never tire of the view descending Paseo del Parque, often with the run rising over the sea. Glancing off to the right, as I turn sharp left, I can see if Gibraltar is clearly in view, topped by a solitary cloud (as often is the case), or shrouded in mist.
The beautifully manicured golf course with palm trees reaching into a clear blue sky is on my left and then it’s a right turn over the bridge crossing Rio Guadiaro.
Then left alongside the apartments lining the marina and through a tiny gap by an industrial gate - that you’d miss if you didn’t know it was there - and into a patch of wasteland where I’ll often pass the dog walkers.
Back out onto the road and into the marina heading right to the very end where a large white circle painted on the ground with a bold “H” in the middle affords one of the best views of the run - straight across the water to Gibraltar, with Africa beyond.
After stopping to take a photo (though not today) it’s back through the marina where the pictures of the boats below were taken, out and back over the bridge to tackle the long straight road and steady climb back to Senda Chica (and breakfast!).
Edit: another step closer to the target Vo2 Max following today’s run:
